This spring allows the compression of the point as well as holds the weight check during the competition. If the weapon does not pass the weight check, take the spring out of the point and pull the ends of the spring apart gently in order to decompress. This should allow the weapon to pass the weight check. If that does not solve the problem or if you find yourself having to do this too often, please replace the pressure spring with a new one.
